There is something a little odd about this movie. I didn't realize what it was until I just looked it up on IMDB to write this. This movie is directed by Larry Cohen (Phone Booth, Cellular, Q The Winged Serpent).
After his son is murdered in a drive by, NFL player John Bookman returns to Gary, Indiana (about 10 minutes from where I live) to avenge his death. He finds out that the gang he started were the ones that killed him. He teams up with some other over 40 year olds to take the gang down.
This movie is both stupid and boring. It starts out kind of silly, but slowly takes a turn for the boring. The acting is awful, the action is not exciting, the dialogue is atrocious and unrealistic. There is a scene where a gang member claims he is God. That was pretty funny, otherwise this movie is a waste of time.

Isaac Hayes stars as Mac 'Truck' Turner, a bounty hunter and probably the baddest motherfucker ever put on film. He and his partner, Jerry, chase down a pimp named Gator and kill him. Gator's head ho (who is one vicious bitch) puts a hit out on Turner. Turner in turn goes through every one of those motherfuckers without getting scratched.
Gator's head ho is the foulest, nastiest bitch I've ever seen in a movie. Gator is a greazy ass bastard. Dick Miller plays a bondsman named Snow. The shit talk in this movie rivals, and probably surpasses, Dolemite. The score, performed by Hayes, is superb.
It might be unfair to say this since I literally just finished watching this movie, but it might be my new favorite. It's definitely my favorite Blaxploitation flick.

When Dr. Pride takes an experimental serum, he soon turns into a white, prostitue murdering maniac. He fights with Silky The Pimp and strangles many hos. He even fights a dog.
This flick maintains a pretty good pace. There are a few slow parts, but not many and they don't last long. Mostly, Dr. Pride turns white and throws people around. This movie has a little bit of everything: tits, violence, pimps, a funky score, foxy black women, drugs and one of the greatest titles in cinema history.
I was expecting a lot of this movie and it definitely delivered. One of its greatest assets is its serious demeanor, which contrasts the title. I was somewhat expecting some goofy bullshit, but it mostly stays straight. The fights are a bit silly and the acting isn't the best (sometimes it's laughable, but not too much outside of the first 10 minutes). I have a feeling that this movie will make its way into my DVD collection.
