Geena Davis stars as a woman with amnesia who learns that she was a government assassin. Samuel Jackson is a private eye that she hired to find out about her past. They go on a road trip after finding some of her things in an old appartment. She slowly slides back into her old way of life, although her new life (being a teacher with a daughter) comes to catch up with her.
In a lot of ways it's like Die Hard with a Vengence. It's ridiculous, over the top and filled with Sam Jackson saying bad one-liners. It's great. It's got action and comedy mixed perfectly. Sure, it's super stupid, but it's really fun. Geena Davis is fantastic. This might be the only Geena Davis movie I like. Samuel L. Jackson is great, as always. He's the perfect buddy for a buddy action movie.
I love how the movie escalates. It goes from Charlie Baltimore (Geena Davis) trying to find out who she is, to her shooting 500 guys at the same time. It's a fun ride. Barely anything about this movie pisses me off. I would have loved a sequel, but they don't set up for one.
How can you not enjoy this film? It's so funny and over-the-top. Like I said earlier, this is on the level of Die Hard with a Vengence. The writer of this film actually wrote Die Hard 2! And the upcoming Iron Man 3! I'll actually watch that, I think. As long as it's not Thor, I'm down.
9/10
