Robot Holocaust is an amazing exercise in bad film making. It's set mostly in rubble with buildings in the background. It begins with a couple of guys sumo wrestling. Then an awful looking robot tells us that it's a fight to the death (I think the robot says that, but I have a hard time recalling). We learn that there is a dark overlord that has poisoned the air, and only some are immune to it. A scientist has created a device that allows them to breathe the poisoned air, but he only had enough parts to make one for him and his daughter. Then a robot kidnaps him.
A man named Neo takes the girl and a bunch of other losers and sets out to take out the dark overlord. They run into a pack of women in a forest and they hate men. The leader of the women fights one of the losers and she loses. Then she joins the losers. Eventually they head into the base of the dark overlord. I fell asleep for 10 to 20 at some point, but I feel like I didn't really miss anything.
What a fucking terrible/great movie. Everything about it is cheap and stupid. I somehow didn't know there was an MST3K version of this. I was watching a remastered rip that somebody uploaded to a torrent tracker. Without even seeing it, I would still have to recommend the MST3K version. It seems like the perfect fodder for MST3K. Anyway, you should see this movie, probably stoned.
8/10 (It's so bad that it's good)
