Woody Allen and Mary Steenburgen are a married couple who haven't made love for six months. A woman that Allen used to see, but never made a move for, is going to marry Steenburgen's cousin (I think, don't quote me on that, though) and they are set to arrive at their country home. Also arriving for the night and the wedding is Allen's best friend, a doctor, and his nurse, who is spending the night with the doc. Many a blunders and partner swapping goes on.
This is a funny, lightweight movie. Allen is a third rate inventor, and one of his inventions is a spirit ball. I like the element of the supernatural in this movie. I found it fun and definitely worth watching.
I should mention that playing the nurse is Julie Hagerty, whom I love. I rarely see her in films, but I always enjoy her. I like her voice and her look.
I'm a fan of Allen and, unlike the rest of the world, don't feel like every time he makes a movie it's the "best one in a long time." Hollywood Ending and Small Time Crooks aren't great, but they are fun, otherwise his current films (especially those with Scarlett Johansen) have been pretty good. I didn't really like Melinda & Melinda, but it wasn't bad. Sorry, but that shit irks me to no end. Damn critics.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
