Daniel Day-Lewis stars as Daniel Plainview, a greedy oil driller who is taking care of the son of one of his fallen partners. He raises the boy as his own, but when the boy becomes deaf due to an oil rig explosion, Plainview ships him away. He takes advantage of the people who are letting him drill and grows greedier.
This is a really good movie, but the end is very stupid. Of course, I won't ruin in case you haven't seen it yet. Overall, this is a really great movie with a bad end, but that doesn't take too much away from the flick. Lewis was excellent, and PTA is a great director and it was nice to see him tackle something this difficult to pull off.
