Clint Eastwood is a man who has been swindled buying cattle by a murderer. Eastwood is mistaken for the killer by a lynch mob. They hang him and leave him to die. The police soon pass by and cut Eastwood down. He goes to jail, but is soon found innocent. He then becomes a federal marshal with the sole purpose of exacting revenge on those who hung him.
This is a really good, fairly quick moving Western. Eastwood is always great, and this is no exception. Similarly to High Plains Drifter (my favorite Western), Eastwood plays a man seemingly back from the dead, hell bent on revenge. I like that theme a lot, I guess.
