The Birds (1963)
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock
Written by Evan Hunter
IMDB
Melonie meets a lawyer, Mitch, at a bird shop whom she finds attractive. When he cannot get his little sister a set of love birds, she orders some and drives them up to his house in Bodega Bay. When she's on a boat a seagull attacks her. She writes it off as a one time thing, but pretty soon that feeling melts away as birds begin to wage war on the humans for a reason that is never known.
This is, of course, a great film. It's not necessarily a great horror film, though. I didn't expect it to be, as Hitchcock's movies usually more along the thriller line, as was this one. Very enjoyable and frightening if you are afraid of birds. This movie will not make you fear birds.
