IMDB

A woman is pulling a con on rich men, getting them to fall in love with her while her friends rip him off. Aboard a cruise ship from South America to the US, she meets an ale tycoon. When she starts the con she finds herself falling in love. She decides to drop the con, but it's too late, as the tycoon has learned about her and doesn't want anything to do with her. She then wants to get back at him for breaking her heart. She poses as a Eve, an English woman. He somehow falls for it.
This is a really great film that is directed exceptionally, especially for the time. I am not at all familiar with Preston Sturges, but hopefully I will soon be. This movie is mainly a comedy, but it has some dramatic elements. It's not as screwball as Netflix would have one believe, at least. There are some hilarious scenes, notably the card game on the ship. Highly recommended.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
