IMDB

Chester Kent (James Cagney) produces staged musical comedies. With the beginning of talking pictures, he switches to producing short musical prologues to stage before a movie. He has to constantly come up with new ideas and his rival keeps stealing his material. He has to find the leak, while his secretary (who is in love with him) tries to protect him from her gold digger friend.
While I was not a huge fan of the songs in this movie, the musical numbers that were loaded into the end of the movie were all visually awesome. The plot is pretty funny and very fast-paced. Chester Kent lives in a state of disarray as he tries to produce these short musicals.
This was a very well directed movie. Busby Berkley directed and choreographed the musical numbers, which are great. Really, the main story of the film is very well made with good editing, which seems to be the biggest flaw in many 30s movies. Definitely watch this.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
