Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer
Written by Hal Roach, Sam Taylor and Jean C. Havez
IMDB
A young man who is bullied by his rival ('His Rival' is actually the character's billing), they are both after the hand of a young woman. Grandma's Boy (the character) is recruited into a posse that is after a murderer. At first he is hesitant, but his grandma tells him a story of his grandfather in the war. He was a one man army when in possession of a charm. Grandma's Boy is given the charm and goes to get the murderer and win His Girl's heart.
This is mostly a really good film. The opening 15 minutes are very dull, though. Once the flashback happens things pick-up. The flashback was the original short. Some good slapstick, but not as good as some of Harold Lloyd's other films.
6.5/10
