IMDB
This animated film focuses on a Israeli soldier who has lost his memories of the 1982 Lebanese invasion. He must come to terms with the atrocities that he committed and deal with his guilt over his parents being put in a concentration camp during World War II, only for him to essentially do the same as the Nazis.
I liked this film sort of. It has a similar quality to Richard Linklater's Waking Life, which is a film that I hate. If a movie is only good when you're on drugs then it's not a good movie. Waltz with Bashir is a good movie in some way. The animation style is good, but different. It's hard to absorb what's going on because it's like you're watching a good internet flash video at times.
My biggest problem with this film is the very e when it stops being animated and shows piles of dead bodies lying on the street. It's gross. I don't ever want to see real dead bodies. It almost came off as exploitative to me.
