IMDB
The titular character, Porco Rosso, is a World War I pilot who left Italy and was curse and turned into a humanoid pig. He spends his time saving children and such from air pirates. When his plane is messed up, he heads to Milan to get it fixed by his mechanic. His mechanic has his granddaughter, Theo, do the work. As the plane is completed, Porco finds himself being hunted by Italian agents and has to escape. Theo will not let him go alone, so she tags along in order to make changes to his plane while it is in flight. He heads back to his home to take on Donald Curtis, his rival, in a fight in the air.
While the plot is ludicrous, the name Hayao Miyazaki should tell you that this movie is much more grounded than one would think. It is a surprisingly engrossing film with interesting characters and an excellent climax. You would have to be some kind of real asshole not to enjoy this movie.
