Robot Holocaust

The Odd Couple (1968)

Labels: ,

Directed by Gene Saks
Written by Neil Simon
IMDB

Felix (Jack Lemmon) is suicidal after his wife asks for a divorce. After failing to commit suicide, he heads over to his regular poker game at his buddy Oscar's (Walter Matthau) apartment. Oscar insists that he moves in there, and he reluctantly accepts. Felix is a neat freak and drives Oscar, a slob, crazy.
Obviously, this movie is fantastic. I assume that is obvious, as it left behind a lasting reputation as a classic comedy and a TV series. Lemmon and Matthau are so great together. They really are a great comedy team for a different era, one that houses few comedy teams. If you have yet to see this film, what are you waiting for? It's on Netflix Instant at the moment.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
