Rubber baron, Fitzcarraldo, sets out to build an opera house in the middle of the jungle. He gets his wife to help him buy a boat and some natives to help him lug the giant ship up a steep hill.
This movie is amazing. Herzog is at his best in this and Aguire, in my opinion. He's great with outside epics, really. A great story of a man trying to overcome the odds and fulfill his lunatic dream.
There is no reason not to watch this movie. It's a bit long, but it flies by.
