The sequel to the classic mid-80s time travel comedy stars where the last film left off.  Unfortunately, the original film was not meant to lead to a sequel.  That might sound weird since it is left open for a sequel, but Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale had just had a series of bombs before making this film (though, Zemeckis is coming off of "Romancing the Stone" here) and were having a hard time even getting a film made.  The first thing they do in this film is to knock out Marty's girlfriend for the entire movie.
While I do love this movie, it is not as consistently good as I or III.  This movie is a bit all over the place, though that is some of the fun of it.  The future stuff is fine.  I loved it when I was a kid.  Now, nearing 2015, it doesn't necessarily seem as neat.  The stuff back in 1955 is pretty great.  It suffers a bit from Crispin Glover not agreeing to it.
