In
Jackson, Mississippi, a young woman aspiring to be a
journalist/novelist begins writing a book about the black women who take
care of white people’s children and homes. As civil rights begins to
roll out we see the town begin turning upside down.
I
thought this film was going to be terrible based on the trailer I saw
before “Bridesmaids.” It was actually very good. Not chick flicky or
goofy at all, rather it is just a good drama with some minor comedy.
The performances are very good, and I especially like Emma Stone and
Jessica Chastain (my new favorite actress). Surprisingly great.
