The Hand (1981)
Directed by Oliver Stone
Written by Oliver Stone
Budget: $6,500,000 (CAD)
IMDB
Michael Caine stars as a comic artist who loses his hand in a car accident (he has his hand out of the window and a truck drives by and rips it off), while arguing with his wife about her moving to New York without him.
His hand somehow comes back to life and attacks people he has had problems with.
Pretty good psychological thriller that I was sort of hoping was more of a horror movie. It was still good, and I believe is the inspiration for the awesome hand cutting off scene in Evil Dead 2 (one of the greatest movies). Oliver Stone's direction is superb, of course.
7.5/10
