IMDB

Joysticks starts with a couple girls tricking a nerd into giving them his pants. It's the nerd's first day working at the arcade. His manager got the girls to get his pants. For some reason he goes into the arcade with no pants on. I would have went home and gotten new pants.
The manager of the arcade is a good looking guy who gets physically ill when he plays a video game. We find out it's because he lost his virginity in the arcade and his girlfriend's father caught them and slapped her up.
There's also a really slobby fat guy who, I think, worked there also. The fat guy is really good at videogames.
A bunch of girls hang out at the arcade. One of the girl's father is one of those crazy guys who blames anti-social behavior on video games. He makes it his agenda to get the arcade shut down. He proposes a showdown between a person of his choosing and a person of the manager's choosing to see whether the arcade stays open any longer.
I enjoyed this movie despite its ludicrous plot, poor acting and Joe Don Baker. It was everything an 80s comedy should be. It had plenty of topless ladies, an over-exaggerated nerd, revenge, a group of guys (I'm not saying it couldn't be women, but in this movie it's guys) becoming friends and a hilarious hair metal theme song called "Totally Awesome Video Games." It's not the greatest 80s comedy, but it's the best one about video games as far as I know. It's better than the Wizard.

8/10

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
