Set in London, the year is 2008. Rutger Hauer is a paranoid cop. He's paranoid because his old partner was killed by Satan. Now Satan has come back to finish drawing a symbol in blood. He's taking his victims' hearts and eating them to, perhaps, eat their souls.
Hauer is teamed up with a Oxford educated detective. Hauer's partner, upon seeing Satan, begins to take on some of his "paranoid" traits (such as drinking coffee and eating chocolate). Hauer and his partner hit the sewers after several run-ins with the monster and have a final face off against it, with really big guns.
Awesome movie. The dark back alleys look awesome and give the movie a nice ambiance. The giant guns are badass, as is Hauer. Hauer is constantly cracking wise ass remarks or calling people (and sometimes dogs) "dicks." This is a really good sci-fi action movie set with an interesting story.
