Kathleen Turner stars as the female private investigator VI Warshawski. She's a typical movie detective, but the twist is she's a woman. She hooks up with a hockey player, who brings his daughter for her to babysit. The hockey player turns up dead. Turner and the kid team up to find out who murdered him.
This is a pretty by the book (not that I read the novel) action movie, but it's fairly light on action. There's an explosion here, a quick fight there. Mostly it's Kathleen Turner babysitting a kid and making wise ass remarks. Not a very good movie, but it was at least well directed. That's the silver lining, I guess.
