This is one of the cheesiest, goofiest monster movies I've ever seen. That's saying something, because all giant monster movies are cheesy.
The Giant Claw is about a bird that looks like a buzzard after being hit in the face with a shovel. This bird is as big as a battleship, as stated at least 15 times throughout the film. If you thought that was enough, you're wrong; this bird has a fucking anti-matter field surrounding it. As stated by some fat fop, "this bird is clearly extraterrestrial." That may not be an exact quote, but it's close. Also, atomic weapons have no effect on it. This movie has more hilarious fake science that the two Fantastic Four movies combined.
This movie has a 2.7 on IMDB, which is fair for a normal person. I'm not normal and I really enjoyed this flick. It plays almost as a satire of itself. The dialogue is ridiculous and the actors deliver it in the most straight-faced hilarious way possible.
The monster is a raggedy puppet who feeds off of humans, planes and trains (maybe automobiles, they didn't show that) through some kind of 'electrical osmosis.'
This is definitely worth watching if you're into corny monster movies. This may be the best American-made one. Every moment of it is silly. It's not boring like some of the movies on MST3K, although it's definitely in the same vein.
9/10
