Some of the cast of the great MTV sketch show The State star/write this absurd take-off on 80s camp movies.
Michael Showalter stars as Coop, an awkward camp counselor who is in love with Katie, the hot girl at camp. Katie is only interested in an asshole, played hilariously by Paul Rudd. Ken Marino and Joe Lo Truglio are two counselors that take a group of kids white water rafting. Marino ditches them so he can lose his virginity to the camp slut. Lo Truglio chases him on a motorcycle, in one of the funniest scenes in the movie.
Janeane Garafalo plays the camp director who is trying to win over an astrophysicist (David Hyde Pierce). Pierce spends much of the movie teaching the camp outcasts about outerspace. They have many great lines and hearing Pierce say "Fuck my cock" will never get old for me.
I've seen this movie probably 15-20 times. I love it. I love the State, I love Reno 911, I even loved Stella. This movie is completely absurd and I wouldn't be surprised if somebody didn't like it, but I would think less of them.
