IMDB

Woody Allen plays a nebbish (a nice change of pace for him) who is awoken by a vigilante group to help catch a strangler. The problem is that nobody will tell him what he's supposed to do. He runs into a sword swallower (Mia Farrow) who has run away from the circus. She has just turned a trick for $700 and they meet at the police headquarters. Allen continues to look for the strangler.
This was a pretty good and quick movie. There's an amazing cast (John Cusack, John Malkovich, Lily Tomlin, Madonna, Kathy Bates, Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, William H. Macy) and the directing is probably among Allen's best work. The movie is black and white and each scene is covered by shadows (and fog, of course). This is a very atmospheric black comedy.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
