I had never seen this movie before last night, but I could not pass up the opportunity when I saw that it was available to stream on Netflix.
What makes this movie interesting, is that it has become the butt of a joke in the years since its release, and with good reason. Batman & Robin is a movie that is held under a blacklight, overly cartoony and full of 90s "don't go there"-isms. I would, in fact, say that this movie is a conglomeration of all of the worst parts of the 1990s.
The story is the least of its problems, really. Batman & Robin fight with Mr. Freeze, who is trying to save his wife. Poison Ivy is trying to kill everybody. Bane is around acting retarded. Alicia Silverstone is Batgirl, who is, for some unknown reason, Alfred's niece instead of Barbara Gordon.
Uma Thurman, as Poison Ivy, is good in some ways, but in other ways she is completely off. She's acting very cartoony, which goes with the movie, but it makes the flick even more over the top. She must think she's a sultry Film Noir femme fatale.
Arnold is really bad as Mr. Freeze, not necessarily through any fault of his own. Bane is dumb and unnecessary. George Clooney is the worst Batman ever. His mugging and terrible one-liners made me want to vomit into my cap. Chris O'Donnell is barely worthy of life, let alone movie stardom.
Joel Schumacher is a mostly terrible director, one only needs to look at his filmography to realize such. Yet he is consistently put at the helm of bigger budgeted films. There is no explaining movie executives' decisions.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
