Audrey Hepburn is the daughter of a painting forger, who sells his forgery for big money at auctions. He loans a fake sculpture to a museum. When the museum sends over insurance papers and he signs them, he finds out they are going to test authenticity and he'll be ruined. Hepburn goes to a cat burglar (Peter O'Toole) she had caught and shot for help. He agrees to help her steal the statue from the museum.
This is a fantastic caper comedy. Hepburn and O'Toole have good chemistry. The film moves along pretty quickly most of the time, but stretches the caper out a little to add tension.
I'm a fan of heist films, and this one has a great one. Audrey Hepburn is adorable. Peter O'Toole is slick. Hepburn's father (Hugh Griffith) is eccentric and goofy looking. Definitely recommended.
