The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)

Labels: ,

Directed by Tobe Hooper
Written by L.M. Kit Carson
IMDB

Two young punks are slaughtered by a family of Texas cannibals while they're talking to a DJ, Stretch, on the radio. A lieutenant detective (Dennis Hopper), who lost his nephew during the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, advises the DJ to play the call every hour to get the word out about the killings. The family of murderers gets wind of this and comes after Stretch. She manages to escape but follows them to their underground lair.
The sequel to the classic horror film Texas Chainsaw Massacre is all about excess. The characters are over-the-top. Stretch is terrified of cannibals so she follows them home for some reason. Leatherface is a dancing, loverlorn baffoon. Chop-Top is outrageous. Lefty is deeply affected by his nephew's death, so he buys three chainsaws and goes head to head with the backwards cannibals. Plus there's a 137 year old man who heads the family.
Worth checking out, especially if you're a horror fan and can handle gore. It's silly, but it might be a little too gory for people who can't handle that sort of thing. Also, the Breakfast Club parody poster is awesome.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
