IMDB
A woman who shoots her cheating husband becomes a scandal. When Katharine Hepburn's husband, the assistant DA (Spencer Tracy), gets assigned the case, Hepburn, also a lawyer, contacts the woman about defending her. As the trial progresses Hepburn and Tracy's marriage begins to feel the sting of competition.
This is a really great film about women's rights and equality. Plus it's actually pretty funny. George Cukor is an excellent director and Hepburn and Tracy are fantastic. Also a great showing from Judy Holliday, who was in Born Yesterday. Holliday is not in too many films, but she's really good.
The only negative thing I have to say about this movie is about the subplot where Hepburn's across the hall neighbor is in love with her. He's completely obnoxious. There's a scene where he's making wise comments while a home movie plays and it's pretty brutal. Other than that this is a wonderful film.
9.5/10
