IMDB
Sherwood Nash is a fashion bootlegger. He goes to Paris and attempts to take photos of Paris' trendiest fashions. His camera gets confiscated, so he has one of his partners, a beautiful blond woman (Bette Davis), draw up some sketches. When those are a big hit in New York, Nash starts to see money signs. They hook up with an ostrich feather salesman with the idea of putting on a review to sell the feathers. Things begin to get complicated when a woman from Nash's past shows up posing as a duchess.
Fashions is a pretty good slice of pre-code light entertainment. William Powell, who plays Sherwood Nash, is great. He played Godfrey in My Man Godfrey. His charm suits his swindler character in this film well. Bette Davis is good, too. There is also a Busby Berkley number featuring half naked women and ostrich feathers galore.
This movie is pretty fast-paced, humorous and entertaining. Worth watching for sure.
