Mummy's Boys (1936)

Labels: ,

Directed by Fred Guiol
Written by Jack Townley, Philip G. Epstein and Charles E. Roberts
IMDB

Two ditch diggers get a job hauling some artifacts back to Cairo. Wheeler can only remember things when he sleeps, which Woolsey gets sick of pretty quickly. They run into some trouble when a murder starts trying to carry out a mummy's curse to scare everybody away from a treasure.
This Wheeler and Woolsey film is not as good as some of their earlier efforts. There were no songs, which are actually good in their movies, as opposed to the Marx Bros. Their movies usually have too many unnecessary musical numbers. There were some pretty funny moments, and it managed to stay pretty interesting throughout.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
