Cassandra's Dream (2007)
Directed by Woody Allen
Written by Woody Allen
IMDB
Two brothers, Ian and Terry, go in on buying a junked up old boat and fix it up. Ian falls in love with a beautiful actress. He hates the restaurant business and wants to move to California to open some hotels. Terry is a pill-popping gambler who doesn't know when to quit. They ask their uncle to lend them some money, but their uncle wants them to do something for him: kill an old business associate.
Woody Allen has been on a pretty hot streak lately. The only Woody movie from last decade that I didn't really like was Melinda and Melinda. Cassandra's Dream is somewhat in the vein of a Cohen Bros. crime movie and it worked pretty well. There are some similarities between this film and Match Point. This movie plays a lot heavier, this film taking focus on the morality of the situations.
