John Tuturro does his best Groucho impression in this farce. Unfortunately for us, Tuturro's Grouch is devoid of any humor. In fact, it is so bad that it sucks any humor that might have occured into a black hole.
The whole time I was watching this film I felt like they were just one step off from a laugh. None of the main actors delivered a single laugh, although there were a few brief scenes that did.
Pat Proft is better known for writing Police Academy, Real Genius and The Naked Gun. Those are all much funnier movies. Dennis Dugan has become a favorite director for Adam Sandler films, which should tell you something.
If you are a fan of the Marx Brothers, this movie will be like poison to you. The shitty poster also does not even mention the Marxes, even though Tuturro's character is a direct rip-off of Groucho.
