Branded to Kill (1967)

Labels: ,

Directed by Seijun Suzuki
Written by Hachiro Guryu, Takeo Kimura, Chûsei Sone and Atsushi Yamatoya
IMDB

Seijun Suzuki (director of the phenomenal Youth of the Beast) delivers another fantastic film about the number three killer (in Japan, I would guess) who is hired to kill several people who are part of a conspiracy. When he misses his last target and kills an innocent civilian instead, he becomes a hunted man. When he comes face-to-face with the number 1 killer, he becomes trapped in a small apartment and terrorized.
This film is amazing and features some excellent and innoventive action scenes. A very stylish film that features some purposefully clunky editing and some very bizarre and trippy scenes, which take nothing away from the plot or make anything confusing. This is a must-see in my opinion and it's on Netflix Instant Watch.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
