Written by Harry Julian Fink, Rita M. Fink and Dean Riesner
IMDB
"Dirty" Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) is a cop that plays by his own rules. That means that he breaks the law and kills people and shit. This is great for a movie, but you would hardly want a real cop like this, chasing people around and killing them.
The Scorpio serial killer is sniping people off of roofs, when Dirty Harry starts getting too close to catching him, Scorpio kidnaps a girl and buries her alive. In order to get her back the police must pay a ransom. Dirty Harry agrees to be the bagman, which obviously leads to some shenanigans. The girl dies and the Scorpio gets away, but is wounded. Harry continues to stalk Scorpio until he captures him, but uses excessive violence and somehow gets let go. This leads Scorpio to be hunted by Harry.
A lot of people, we'll call them rubes, will think this is a bad movie for some reason. Maybe because they only want to watch movies like Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties. This movie is good, and the shift halfway through where Dirty Harry starts hunting the serial killer is really interesting. The Scorpio killer is so outlandish. Definitely worth watching. Somewhat similar to Die Hard in tone, but you almost always feel like Dirty Harry has the upper hand in this movie.
