Charley has a new neighbor and he thinks the neighbor is a vampire. He is getting distracted from his girlfriend, so she and his pal "Evil" conspire and hire a popular television personality (playing a vampire hunter while hosting late night horror flicks) in order to prove the neighbor is not a vamp. Well, it turns out that he is a vampire and now they are all fucked, especially his girlfriend who reminds the vampire of a long dead girlfriend.
What a great movie. I do not go for vampire movies very often; I feel like they are more often played up as sexy instead of scary. This movie takes it both ways sort of, but moreso the scary side. There is a fair amount of gore and gross outs. The vampire hunter angle is great and allows for some laughs, although this movie is not lighthearted, it is somewhat of a comedy.
This is my second horror movie this week and my personal goal is to watch nothing but horror and sci-fi (I'm mostly saying that because I have Soylent Green from Netflix still) for the rest of the year. I will probably not make it since my girlfriend does not watch many horror movies, although she likes the ones she sees.

8.5/10

Watched this again with my wife. Love it. She liked it, though she doesn't really go for horror. Also, there's some shitty remake out there too now.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
