All About Eve (1950)

Labels: ,
Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz
Written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz
IMDB

A young actress (Anne Baxter) finds her way into the inner circle of an aging broadway star (Bette Davis).  She then finagles her way into becoming a star through blackmail and backstabbing.
A fantastic film with an outstanding cast, especially the female leads.  Anne Baxter and Bette Davis are superb.  The framing device for the movie (Eve receiving an award while other characters narrate the story through reminiscences) is wonderful, and often imitated.  A true classic and one of the best films I have seen.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
