IMDB

A 40-year-old ex-con goes back to high school thinking it will bring her father out of a coma.  She joins the science fair team, which she also thinks will bring her father out of a coma.  She befriends a nerdy redhead and a guy from a different country (I know how it sounds, but I forget which).
Many of the laughs in this film, and there are not many, come from Stephen Colbert.  Fans of the TV show may like this, although it is hardly new ground.  It is pretty much a retread of many of the situations/jokes, but without the after-school-special vibe.  I was never much of a fan of the TV series, though I did not dislike like it.  It was okay and, guess what, this movie is okay too.  Not great, not bad, just fine with a few laughs.  Melissa Thayer is hot, though.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
