 A group of professors are holed up in a boarding house writing an encyclopedia containing all of the world's information.  The one part they are faltering on is the slang section.  Gary Cooper, the only young prof. heads out to a nightclub to do some slang research.  Then he gets mixed up with a mobster's girlfriend/nightclub singer named Sugarpuss.
This is a screwball comedy.  The plot is pretty much nonsense, but when you team up Billy Wilder and Howard Hawks how can you lose?  Pretty funny overall and a good movie.
