IMDB
An
executive at a shoe manufacturer must choose between paying the ransom
for his chauffeur's son and buying out a majority of stock to take
control of the company.
“High
and Low” contains a dramatic story where a man must choose between his
way of life and the life of a child. It also shows police hunting down
the kidnapper. Akira Kurosawa is one of the greatest, if not the
greatest, directors in the history of film. This is not among my
favorites of his films, but it is still excellent and a great example of
his work. At nearly 2.5 hours, this movie is long, but it never felt
that way, except when I was falling asleep (I watched this late at
night, and it had nothing to do with the actual film).
9/10
