A group of Tokyo mobsters are sent to Okinawa to end a gang war. When the war escalates they hide out at the beach.
This movie features both unrepentant, emotionless violence and then people hanging out at the beach trying to kill their boredom. It’s an odd mix, but it works. I was kind of confused when they got to the beach, but I guess I missed a line of dialogue that set it up. Expertly directed by Takeshi Kitano, who also wrote and starred in the film. An interesting movie and well worth the 1.5 hours it takes to watch.
