Blade II (2002)

Labels: , ,

Directed by Guillermo Del Torro
Written by David S. Goyer
Budget: $54,000,000
IMDB

Guillermo Del Torro, who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite directors, brings us Blade II, a movie that, in my opinion, surpasses the original. This flick is much grittier than the previous installment and doesn't have Stephen Dorf like the original or Ryan Reynolds like Blade Trinity.
Blade teams up with a bunch of vampires to face off against a genetically modified vampires that have less weaknesses than regular ones. A lot of twists and turns follow and the movie has a nice pace. I found the amount of drug use (or using blood as a drug) surprising, but it was cool. Very gorey.
I'm still on the fence about watching Blade Trinity, mostly due to Ryan Reynolds.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
