A shitty boxer sees a woman getting roughed up in an apartment across the way from his. He runs over and soon finds himself falling in love with the woman. The woman's boyfriend is some kind of mobster, or maybe just a regular guy who happens to have goons. When the woman and the boxer decide to take off to Seattle the woman's ex-lover shows up to kill them. They accidentally kill the boxer's manager, who is going to give them a ride. They kidnap the girl and the boxer comes after them.
Okay, now I thought this movie was mostly boring, but once the boxer finds the mob-type guy they have a bit of a brawl. They end up in a manequin factory and the mob guy grabs and axe and they have themselves an axe fight.
Axe fight aside, this was a pretty boring film noir. I like noirs occasionally, although I generally find them dry. If you're a huge Kubrick or film noir fan, then this is probably worth a watch. It's barely over an hour long, so it won't even take up that much of your day.
