IMDB

An FBI agent (Rick Moranis) is assigned to take care of a mobster, turned informant (Steve Martin). Moranis is stuck up, and his wife leaves him because she feels they're in a rut (and she's banging a baseball player). Martin can't help himself from committing crimes while in the small town he's been sent to for the witness protection program. His wife leaves him because she doesn't like the town. Joan Cusack is the DA who is constantly trying to bust Martin, even though he has immunity. Martin is trying to set up Cusack and Moranis.
This movie was actually a lot funnier than I was expecting. Moranis is somewhat funny, but Steve Martin is hilarious. Ever since I saw him on 30 Rock, I'm convinced that he could sell any line (if he wanted to) and make it funny. That doesn't mean I'm going to watch the Pink Panther remake or Cheaper By the Dozen. Although Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is on the way from Netflix.
The story is okay. The directing is fine. The writing is decent (written by the scribe of Bewitched, You've Got Mail and When Harry Met Sally). What really makes the movie, like I already said, is Martin's charm and the way he can sell a line. He and Moranis are good foils, though. There is an 80s-ness to the movie that is undeniable, but I don't think that's a negative thing, necessarily. Shit, it could be a positive thing.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
