A Shot in the Dark is the sequel to the Pink Panther and it's almost as good, some may say better. Inspector Clouseau is put on a case where a millionaire Spaniard is shot in the dark. It's his job to find the murderer. Everybody suspects his lover, whom he tore the clothes off of right before getting shot, but Clouseau has a hunch that it could be anybody but her.
This movie is a classic and I've seen it about a twenty times. When I was a kid I would often rent all of the Pink Panther movies, especially the sequels. There's so much I love about the sequels that are missing from the original. Particularly, I love Kato and Herbert Lom going crazy.
There's a pretty simple formula to these movies: put Clouseau in a setting and let him ineptly knock shit over and piss everybody off. One of the funniest scenes is him trying to play pool with the bridge and then with a curved stick. I'd like to see Steve Martin make that shit as funny as Peter Sellers did.
Great movie that sets the tone and begins lots of running jokes for the sequels.

9/10

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
