Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955)

Labels: ,

Directed by Charles Lamont
Written by John Grant
IMDB

Abbot and Costello are in Egypt and are about to offer to take a mummy back to the US for a doctor. The doctor ends up dead by the hands of a cult, who are looking for a medallion. Costello ends up with the medallion (and even ends up eating it later). Abbot and Costello find themselves running from a mummy, a cult and the police in this flick.
This is not a terrible comedy, but it's also not all that funny. I laughed a few times, mostly toward the end. One thing that is very funny about it is how Abbot and Costello have character names according to the credits, but they just call each other by their real names. I can't wholly recommend this movie, but it's definitely not bad and if you're interested at all it's not a waste of time.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
