IMDB
Workers at a medical supply company, which specializes in cadavers and half-dogs, unleash a zombie infestation when they tamper with a sealed container housing a living dead human. When they try to burn a reanimated corpse in a crematorium, the fumes are soon brought back to Earth by rain, turning the buried corpses at the cemetery into an undead army with a hunger for brains.
There are a lot of things that make this movie great and set it aside from other zombie movies, mainly it takes place at the source of the infestation. Many zombie movies, especially more current ones, don't even bother with a ground zero for the outbreak, and most take place at an undefined period of time after the infestation occurs. This movie mainly takes place in the funeral home/crematorium and medical supply warehouse.
Another thing that sets this movie aside from some zombie movies is its humor. It's not the obvious and overly deliberate humor of Shawn of the Dead. Rather it's just a line here or there and some of the goofy characters.
Return of the Living Dead is definitely worth checking out if you like zombies or horror movies. If you can't handle gore or Linnea Quigley nude then you should probably pass on this.
