Roy Earle, a bank robber, is pardoned from prison. He's got a job planned that involves some travel. On his way he meets a poor family and takes an interest in their granddaughter. His crew for the job are two guys and they've brought a girl along with them. The girl falls in love with Roy, but Roy is in love with the clubfooted girl. He even pays for her to get an operation to fix her foot. When they pull the job, a security guard is shot and Roy goes on the run.
This is a fine film, which shows the anti-hero protagonist's good and bad side. There was a little too much melodrama for my personal taste, but I mostly enjoyed it. Worth watching.
