Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
Directed by Wes Anderson
Written by Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach
IMDB
When Mr. Fox and his wife are captured while stealing some squabs, Mrs. Fox tells him that she's pregnant and makes him promise to never steal anything again. We flash several years into the future where Mr. Fox is a newspaper columnist and his nephew, Kristofferson, is getting ready to arrive.
Mr. Fox's son, Ash, does not want his more athletic cousin around. He gives him a hard time, especially when his dad takes Kristofferson on a farm robbery. Pretty soon the three farmers that they've been robbing come after them, forcing them underground into the sewers. When one of the hunters shoots off Mr. Fox's tail, his son and Kristofferson decide to go get it. Kristofferson gets captured, leaving Mr. Fox and his friends to rescue the boy fox.
I really loved this movie. It's fun and funny, plus it looks really cool. Wes Anderson's films are somewhat gimmicky, but not in a bad way. It is pretty disappointing that this film didn't do better in the theaters. If I had kids I'd make them watch this.
8.5/10
