Jaws (1975)
Directed by Steven Spielberg
Written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb
IMDB
Here's a movie I can check off of my "need to watch" list.
A pre-Hook Steven Spielberg helms this great tale of shark attacks and the greed of a resort community on Fourth of July weekend. Well, it's more about the shark attacks, but the greed is sort of the theme. Any time somebody puts money in front of human lives it's going to get a reaction out of me.
I was surprised that this film wasn't more suspenseful. It did have some horror elements, but it was equally an adventure/revenge film. Does anybody need somebody telling them that Jaws is a good movie? It's worth watching just to see a huge shark chew shit up, but it's also a great movie.
10/10
