Mr. Brooks (2009)
Directed by Bruce A. Evans
Written by Bruce A. Evans and Raynold Gideon
IMDB
Kevin Costner plays a serial killer who has been lying low for a few years. He goes to AA meetings for his addiction to serial killing. He gets the overwhelming urge to kill and goes after a couple who usually leaves the windows open. A guy from across the street (Dane Cook) gets a picture of Costner killing them and frames him into taking him along on a killing. Meanwhile a cop going through a rough divorce (Demi Moore)is hot on their trail.
This is a really solid thriller/action movie that doesn't act like it's better than it is. It doesn't waste your time with fake science or overly complicated montages of Mr. Brooks cleaning up his murder scenes. It has a similar schizophrenic element that Fight Club and A Beautiful Mind used, and I think it's a similar movie in some ways.
9.5/10
