IMDB

Warner Herzog expertly crafts this film about survival. Dieter Dengler is captured on his first mission when his plane is shot down. He is subjected to torture for months while devising an escape plan with his fellow prisoners. When they finally escape he faces even an even tougher obstacle: the forest.
I've read in some places that this film is Warner Herzog's foray into a big budgeted stupid film and it's not his style. Granted that I've only seen Aguire, The Wrath of God, but I think these films are fairly similar. Aguire is also a tale of survival and shot in a similar way. This is a challenging film to watch, and probably unwatchable if you have a weak stomach, but it's an instant classic in my opinion.

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
